But if you had read between the lines I would have created a new fire configuration group with the added facility to isolate the zone.
Point taken someone has finally agreed that standalone sensors are at times better then one connected to a security panel. Even the cheapest battery-only smoke detector will do a better job at alerting you of a potential fire than one connected to an alarm as Instant in an unarmed area. This is a bit risky IMHO, as the point of smoke detectors is to save lives, not property.
If a smoke detector is in its own area, I assume it is programmed as an Instant zone, and the owner has to remember to arm the area for the smoke detector to work (remember, we are all human and even the best of us forget to do things sometime).
